How to Choose Your Lawyer

Choosing Your Attorney
Attorneys are the people you call when you need a problem solved. Law firms vary greatly and it is important to find the attorney best equipped to resolve your issues efficiently and effectively. Here are some factors to consider in choosing your attorney:

Experience in the Practice Area
Many firms specialize in a particular area of the law, while others cover a wide range of practice areas. Each of our attorneys has his/her own areas of expertise and has dedicated thousands of hours in practice and continuing education.

Reputation
Clients either love their lawyers or hate them. Our firm has established a reputation for excellence in the community over the past twenty-five years and continues to serve the present and future needs of our current clients, as well as our expanding client base. It is important to ask an attorney how he/she gets clients. The overwhelming majority of our clients are referrals from former clients and other attorneys. We would not have built the referral network we have without a great deal of client satisfaction and a reputation for success.

Local
Every court runs in a unique way, and it is important to choose an attorney who is familiar with the judges, administrative staff, and local rules. Our attorneys know the likes, dislikes, and tendencies of the judges, which is valuable in advising our clients of their various options and tailoring the presentation of evidence to the particular judge. By knowing the administrative staff and local rules, we can get quicker settings for hearings and trials which allows us to keep the cases moving toward a final resolution. Our attorneys actively participate in the community and the legal profession. The judges also know us and our reputations. Over the years we have earned credibility with judges through our zealous, yet ethical, representation of clients.

Quality, Not Quantity
We are not a volume practice that seeks to take on as many clients as possible. Each client and each case require personal attention. We will never sacrifice quality of representation for quantity of cases. We do not accept all potential clients that contact us, and we maintain manageable caseloads. As a result, we have the time to give each case the attention it deserves. A large portion of our caseloads are referrals from former clients and other attorneys. We have built our referral network by putting forth the time and effort needed to accomplish our clients’ goals.

Professionalism
Attorneys are charged with great responsibility to their clients and to the justice system. Our attorneys uphold high ethical standards while fiercely advocating for our clients interests.

Comfort and Likeability
A personal connection is important to developing a productive relationship with your attorney. You should feel comfortable enough to ask questions and participate in your legal representation. Additionally, we will give you an honest assessment of your case, good and bad. We are not going to tell you what you want to hear just to get your business.

Availability
As a client it is important to know you can reach your attorney to address questions or concerns about your case. Our attorneys keep the client advised throughout the representation and provide the personalized service you deserve.

Cost
Employing an attorney is an investment in securing your legal rights and can be a costly undertaking. However, you are entitled to efficient representation that provides quality work product for the fees charged.
